CUYAHOGA FALLS - Charlie Walker, 63, of Cuyahoga Falls passed away Friday, August 31, 2012 after a long battle with heart disease. His family was by his side at home when he passed away into comfort.

He was born April 14, 1949 in New Kensington,Pennsylvania to parents Carl and Norma Walker.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Becky Walker; daughter Amy; son Josh and his wife Laura; soon to be granddaughter Sadie; Dink; sister Pam; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Norma; father Carl and brother Larry.

An easy person to get along with, he enjoyed spending spare time creating memories at Angelina's Pizzeria of North Akron. He also enjoyed old movies, the history channel, the TV show American Pickers and being with the people he loved. His smile and chuckle would light up a room and will forever be missed.

Charlie was a retired carpenter of over 35 years spent primarily with Ver-Dick Builders of Stow and he was a jack of all trades: soldier, mechanic, carpenter, plumber, handyman, woodworker, pizza delivery guy, among many other talents. During his retirement, Charlie enjoyed the trade of woodworking and making many special memories for his family and friends.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls in two sessions; 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm. The Charles Faust Post of the American Legion will be holding a military service at 2:00 pm at the start of calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the S.Y.B. Hall of Stow starting at 6:00pm. 4157 Hudson Drive, Stow OH 44224.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to theSumma Western Reserve Hospital, 1900 23rd St. Cuyahoga Falls OH 44223. The family would like to thank the nurses doctors and staff of the Western Reserve Hospital and Hospice of Summa for allthe kind care they gave to Charlie and his family.
