MASSILLION – James Kerry Bidwell passed away July 16, 2018 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was a 1965 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. Jim attended the Merchant Marine Academy achieving a dual engineering degree. He put in his service time circumnavigating the globe aboard many ships.
Following graduation, he also attained a law degree and a master’s degree in business administration.
Jim spent many years in Hawaii where he worked as a contractor and arbitrator for many enterprises. Upon returning to the mainland he continued this work for The Tides Inn and Enchantment Hotel. Jim loved traveling especially with his family. Family was very important to him and he enjoyed being surrounded by them as much as possible. He attended The New Apostolic Church in Massillon, OH.
Preceded in death by his parents, James and Donna Bidwell, wife, Barbara and brother, Bruce; he is survived by his wife, Marcia; daughter, Tyler (Josh) McConaughay; grandchildren, Penelope and Wesley; sister, Marcia Spring; aunt, Elizabeth Rinella; step-children, Julie Metzger (David), Jennifer Lowry, Amanda Lloyd (Seth), Scott Tully (Stacy); 10 step-grandchildren; and beloved furry family, Bob, Smokey and Jasmine.
Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Friday July 20, 2018 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday July 21. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
