Alberta Paula Gahera, a cherished sister, daughter, and community member, passed away peacefully at her home in Cuyahoga Falls on February 5, 2026. Born on May 5, 1945, in Akron, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of Albert "Al" DiMascio and Josephine "Jo" DiMascio-Shiavone, both of whom predeceased her.
Alberta dedicated many years of her professional life as an administrative manager at Western and Southern Life Insurance Company. A proud graduate of St. Mary's High School in Akron, she carried the values and lessons learned there throughout her life.
As a loving sister to three brothers—Joseph DiMascio, Philip "Phil" DiMascio, and Onofrio "Jack" DiMascio—Alberta was deeply woven into the fabric of her family’s life. Her nurturing spirit and caring nature left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Alberta's passions extended beyond her professional accomplishments; she had a profound love for animals and enjoyed helping people in any way she could. An avid reader, she found joy and solace in literature, often sharing her latest discoveries with friends and family. Alberta's zest for life and compassionate heart will forever be remembered.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Alberta Paula Gahera’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family and community will remain a lasting inspiration.
