Listen to Obituary

Amanda (Smith) Gill went home to be with the Lord February 27, 2026. She was born March 3, 1978, in Akron, Ohio. She spent most of her life as a resident of northeast Ohio, except for the six years she spent in Georgia supporting her husband while he finished his bachelor’s degree and then attended chiropractic college.

Amanda was a proud graduate of Stow High School, Class of 1996. She later continued her education at the National Institute of Massotherapy, graduating in 2005, and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Complementary and Alternative Medicine from Everglades University in 2018, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

She built a diverse and meaningful career over the years. Amanda worked for more than a decade as a Lead Pharmacy Technician at CVS in Stow, Ohio and Marietta, Georgia through May 2011. She served on Bike Patrol for Summit Metro Parks in Stow from 2002 to 2005. In 2006, Amanda worked as a self-employed Licensed Massage Therapist and at Minorik Chiropractic Center. She later became a Sales Representative for Young Living from 2013 until 2026 and also served as a Den Leader for Cub Scouts from 2016 to 2022.

Amanda had a wonderful life. She experienced so much fun and the beauty that this world has to offer. She had true friends and people all around her and all over the country that loved her and admired her.

Amanda had a thirst for knowledge, truth, and growth. She had great experiences and learned many lessons. She read about and researched every topic she was interested in and would learn as much as she could about it before making any decision, especially when it came to taking care of her children. Amanda loved to teach the information that she absorbed and as a result, was able to change countless lives.

As much as she enjoyed her time at home with family, she also looked forward to going out experiencing life with groups of people. She loved going to rock concerts and was fortunate enough to meet some of her favorite musicians. She spent countless hours exploring the woods, putting her feet in a stream, or quietly watching the sunset. She was all too happy to wrap up the night by spending time around a bonfire with friends and family. Being out in nature was truly her happy place.

She was so fun to be with in a circle of friends at a party having a lighthearted conversation. She had a great sense of humor that so many of those close to her will miss. She could joke around and find humor in just about anything. She knew when to keep it clean and classy, but she could get vulgar and sarcastic with the right crowd!

Of all the things she did, places she went to, and fun she had, being a mother to people, plants, and animals was truly her passion. Some of us believed it was her calling in life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Scott; her children, Aaron, Dylan, and Serena; her mother, Deidre Smith; her sisters, Suzanne and Cindi; her brother, Chris; her uncle David and aunt Deb Houghton; and a long list of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Smith Sr.; her brother, William Smith Jr.; and her grandparents, Ralph and Marie Houghton.

Amanda had a fun and interesting life full of love and experiences. There will never be another person quite like her. She will be deeply missed by family and friends all over the country, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Friends and family will be received at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221 on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 3:00 pm.
