Arthur James Borchert, 76, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, passed away peacefully at home on June 26, 2025.
Born on June 3, 1949, in Cleveland, OH, Arthur was the son of Arthur Cornelius Borchert and Mamie Novy. He attended Valley Forge High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Army from 1967 to 1970 as part of the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment (Blackhorse Regiment). He was awarded numerous honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 DVC, Vietnam Service Medal, two Overseas Bars, and distinctions as a Marksman (M-16 Rifle) and Expert (M-14 Rifle).
Following his military service, Arthur built a life rooted in hard work and independence. He worked as an automobile mechanic and later as a cross-country truck driver. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and known for his love of cars, history, classic westerns, and riding his Harley.
Arthur had a heart of gold and a goofy sense of humor that endeared him to everyone he met. Fiercely generous and famously stubborn, he was always true to himself, often saying, “Same, same,” and “I am who I am.”
He is survived by his children, James Borchert (Joyce), Cindy Roenigk (Lee), and Jennifer Masie (Andrew); grandchildren Brandi Borchert, Hayley Roenigk, Kylie Roenigk, Julia Masie, Drew Masie, Madison Masie, Nolan Masie, Jason Allis (Becca) and Ashley Van Ness; and great-grandchild Tatum Webb. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Ashley Borchert, great-grandchild Hunter Joseph and his brother Robert Karafiat.
A private celebration of life for immediate family will be held at a later date.
Arthur’s legacy lives on in the lives of those he loved deeply—and who loved him right back. He will be missed more than words can express.
