Listen to Obituary

Benjamin C. Brandt, a beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, at the age of 86.

Born to the late Benjamin H. and Mildred Brandt, Ben grew up with a love of people and a gift for working with his hands. A retired finish carpenter, he was known as a true genius with wood — creating pieces that were not only beautiful but lasting legacies of his skill and dedication. His love of making things was more than a craft; it was an expression of his joy in life and his care for others.

Ben was married to his devoted wife Alice Brandt for 57 years, a partnership filled with love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Together, they built a family rooted in kindness, creativity, and deep affection. He is survived by his daughters, Lynn Williams and Monica (Brian) Lawrence, and grandchildren Spencer Williams, Jamie (Darren) Glavic, and Chad Brandt. He now joins his son, William Brandt. His presence will also be deeply missed by extended family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to know him.

Those who knew Ben remember him as someone who got along with everyone — a man whose smile, warmth, humor, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He loved people, and people loved him in return.

Calling hours will be held on October 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Mother of Sorrows Parish, 6034 S Locust St, Peninsula, OH 44264, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.

His life was built with love, care, and craftsmanship — qualities that live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and in every piece of wood he shaped into something extraordinary.
