Bertha "Irene" Raper (nee Fuller), 97, passed away quietly on Thursday, April 27, 2006.
She was born February 4, 1909 in Birmingham, Al and was a resident of the Akron area for 90 years. She was retired from Akron Extruders (formerly known as Samco, Inc.) a family-owned business where she served as Secretary-Treasurer. Irene was a member of Cuyahoga Falls Chapter #245 Order of Easter Star for 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert W. Raper, parents, Reynaldo and Atlee (Salter) Fuller; brothers James "Bud" Fuller and Aubrey M. Fuller and sister, Wiladel Shelby. She is survived by her daughter, Marianne Myers (Thomas) Reed of Cuyahoga Falls; son, Robert D. (Jeanette) Raper of Canal Fulton; grandsons David W. (Joyce) Myers of Tallmadge and Michael R. (Melisa) Myers of Dublin, OH; great-grandchildren Victoria, Shannon, Alison, Ella and Andrew Myers and Step great-grandchildren Dylan, Tyler and Kelsey Clites.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Traditions At East Bath Road and Summa Hospice.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls and one hour prior to an 11:00 a.m. Monday Service at the funeral home, Pastor Lawrence Shaw officiating. Cuyahoga Falls Chapter 245 Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a service at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Interment Hillside Memorial Park. The family requests donations to the Akron Blind Center & Workshop, 325 E Market St., Akron, OH 44304-1340 or the Susan B. Korman Foundation, c/o Korman Northeast Ohio Affiliate, 10819 Magnolia Dr., Cleveland, OH 44106 in her memory.
