Betty Ahlquist

Betty (Haught) Ahlquist nee Morris, 91, died April 13, 2006 after a brief illness. Mrs. Ahlquist was born in Cleveland, OH and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls her entire life, graduating from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1933. She retired from National City Bank as a receptionist/secretary and had previously worked for Akron City Hospital and Goodyear Aircraft. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, belonged to the Akron Women's City Club and was a life long member of several bridge groups.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Haught and Verner Ahlquist, with whom she enjoyed over 25 years of marriage each, and brothers Duane and Robert Morris and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Steve Zimmerman of Green; grandson, Christopher (Melody) Antalek of Cuyahoga Falls; great-grandchildren, Phoebe and Justin Antalek; dearest friend and sister-in-law, Pearl Morris; many nieces and nephews including dearest niece Joni Palmeri and many dear friends and neighbors.
The Family would like to express special thanks to the VNS Hospice staff for their exceptional care and concern.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, Rev. Robert J. Morgart officiating. Friends may also call for one hour prior to service time. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333-6118.
