Beverly Y. King

Stow - Beverly Y. King, 92, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025. Born in Akron, she made her home in Stow for most of her life. Bev graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School and later attended Bowling Green State University. She spent many years serving the Kent City Board of Education and, before that, worked for Ohio Bell. Above all, Bev cherished her family. She found her greatest joy in watching her grandchildren grow, lovingly doting on her great-grandchildren, playing bridge and shopping.

Bev and her husband, Richard, shared a full and active life together. Over the years, they were involved in many local organizations, including the American Legion Charles Faust Post 281, V.F.W. Ralph Huff Post 1082, Cuyahoga Falls Eastern Star, the Eagles Club, and the Stow Sunshiner's Club. They were also charter members of Stow United Methodist Church and were active at First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls, where they were married.

Bev was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard C. King; her parents, Miner and Ruth (Mitchell) Bevere; her grandson, Danny Adkins; and her brother-in-law, Fred Sowers. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Carol (Steven) Etheridge and David King (Sarah Curry); her sister, Nancy Sowers; her brother, Neil (Nancy) Bevere; four grandchildren-Kevin Adkins, Jason (Brooke) Adkins, Landon King, and Lauren King (Tony Hernandez); twelve great-grandchildren, and many extended family members who will hold her memory close.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. Family and friends may gather for visitation prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Bev will be laid to rest privately at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
