Byron Roy

Byron Roy, 79, Went home to be with the Lord on October 27, 2020. He was the son of Bruce and Louise Roy and was born in Akron, Ohio. Byron’s childhood home was in Stow, Ohio and he graduated from Stow High School in 1959. After high school Byron went to Kent State where he earned a bachelors degree in 1974. After graduating from Kent, he went on to earn a Masters of Divinity degree from Colgate Rochester Divinity School. Byron then went on to be ordained in the Episcopal priesthood at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He went on to be the rector at St. George’s Episcopal in Rochester, New York. Byron also served as a board member of the Episcopal Church Home in Rochester, New York. He also served as a resident chaplain at the Friendly Homes of Rochester, New York. He also was a resident chaplain of the Episcopal Church Home in Rochester, New York. Byron also enjoyed flipping and renovating Houses with his partner Paul Agosto. He also decided to go back to school and went to the Hickory Pipe Organ Company to learn how to design and construct pipe organs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Louise Roy. He will be greatly missed by his life partner Paul Agosto; Siblings, Bruce (Purita) Roy, Gail (Thomas) Clarke, Ted (Fang) Roy, and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Byron have already taken place. The family has requested in-leu of flowers please send a memorial contribution to St. John’s Episcopal Church Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
