Carl Biats, Jr.

Carl Biats Jr, 61, resident of Portages Lakes and beloved husband of Denise Ball-Biats, passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2023. He was so loved by his family and friends and will be forever missed. He was preceded in death by his parents Delores and Carl, Sr, brother Christopher, and stepmother, Joanne Biats. Carl is survived by his wife and love of his life, Denise Ball-Biats, stepsons David (Aimee) Ball and Devon Ball, beloved grandson Nathan Ball, In-laws David (Diane) Ball. Children - Adam Biats (Kathleen Sinclair) and Melissa (Ian) Artman, grandsons Alexander and Logan Artman; brothers Rob (Annette), David (Laura), and Patrick (Sue), as well as many nieces and nephews.

Carl loved life and would often be found singing in the hallways at work and whistling everywhere he went. He loved people and would enjoy telling stories and laughing, especially with his family. Carl felt great joy when spending time with his grandson Nathan, who occupied such a special place in his heart and with his niece Ava who called him “Babycakes”.

Carl met the love of his life, Denise in 2008 and they spent every moment together in happiness and unending love. They were truly soulmates, overcoming every obstacle placed in their path and replacing them with sincere adoration and steadfastness in their beautiful marriage. They shared and spoiled their fur babies - dogs Bella, Benjamin, Blaze, Bubba, and Bird Beamer, as well as cats Crybaby, Becca and Bailey. The life that they built with their family and their love of boating on Portage Lakes was very special and meant the world to them. Times spent with the “Ski Club plus one” were the most special of times and provided great joy to Carl. He will be missed greatly.
