Charles “Jerry” Thomas White passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, surrounded by family. He was born on October 31, 1936 to John and Louise (Koch) White in St. Mary's, Ohio.
He grew up in St. Mary's, and graduated from St. James Trade School in Springfield, IL. He moved to Cuyahoga Falls in 1965 where he had a 29-year career at the Chrysler Twinsburg Stamping Plant, retiring as a Foreman.
Jerry was a proud Army veteran who served honorably in Korea. Deeply committed to his faith and community, he was a longtime parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, a member of the American Legion, VFW, Knights of Columbus, Eagles, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Jerry is predeceased by his parents; brothers, John White Jr. and Michael White; sisters, Susan “Sally” White, Mary Anne White, Catherine "Billie" Rauh, Ruth “Honey” Horney, Mary Schroer; brothers-in-law, Bill Rauh, Don Reichert, Bill Irons, Gene Rhoades, Ken Horney; and stepsons Rodney and Randy Treash.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rita; children, Malissa (Don) Burke of Stow; Don (Tina) White of Stow; Sean White of Cuyahoga Falls; stepchildren Trista Herdlick (Luke Wingert) of Navarre; Ryan (Angi) Treash of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Jonathan (Lynn Durst) and Erin Burke, Emma, Patrick and Maria White, Jordan (Rig) Benavidez, Justin Herdlick, and Abby and Carly Treash; great grandchildren Joshua and Lyra Benavidez; sisters, Doris "Dubie" Reichert and Carolyn "Sissy" Rhoades; brothers, James (Judy) White, William (Joan) White; sister in law, Helen Whitted, Grace Sommerville and brother-in-law Mike Schroer. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Rosary service will be held at 9:30am on July 11, 2025, followed by a memorial visitation from 10am to 11am, and a Memorial mass will be held immediately following at 11am. All of these services will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls. A private burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Legion, Charles Faust Post 281, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio or Father McCann fund at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
