Dennis Arthur Willgues

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis A. Willgues, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who departed this life on July 18, 2026, after a long illness. Dennis was born on July 9, 1942, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, to his loving parents, Alfred and Eva Mae (Williams) Willgues.

Dennis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane; his parents, Alfred and Eva Mae (Williams) Willgues; his sister, Sharon; and his brother, Lionel (John).

He is survived by his son, Jonn; his sister, Becky Blackerby; nieces, Dawn and Shannon; nephews, David, Randy, and Darrin; and many other loving family members and friends.

Dennis's life was a tapestry of vibrant adventures and heartfelt connections. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1960, after which he proudly served in the U.S. Navy—a testament to his dedication and love for his country. He began his career at Goodyear Tire, where he completed a four-year apprenticeship in 1970, demonstrating his commitment to excellence and hard work. He later retired from Goodyear Aerospace/Loral and worked part-time as a groundskeeper at Brookledge Golf Course in Cuyahoga Falls.

A chance encounter at the Short Stop Drive-In in Kent led Dennis to the love of his life. Upon seeing Jane, he famously declared, "I'm going to marry that girl," and indeed, he did. On June 20, 1964, Dennis married his beloved wife, Jane, and they embarked on a beautiful journey together, welcoming their son, Jonn, shortly thereafter. In 1969, they settled in Cuyahoga Falls, where they built a loving home that would be the heart of family gatherings for nearly six decades.

Dennis was a man of many interests, with a zest for life that was truly unmatched. His hobbies spanned from drag racing to scuba diving and everything in between. In his later years, he continued to showcase his competitive spirit in pool tournaments at the Eagles Club. His piercing super blue eyes were a window into his spirited personality, and his kindness touched everyone he met.

A valued member of the community, Dennis was actively involved with the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2207, where he hosted annual chili cook-offs to raise funds for the Falls Cancer Club. His generous spirit and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Dennis leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. His family, friends, and community will forever remember his unwavering spirit, boundless enthusiasm for life, and the kindness he shared with everyone he met.

In accordance with Dennis's wishes, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Falls Cancer Club in Dennis's memory.
