Doris Mae James

Doris M. James of Cuyahoga Falls went home to paradise surrounded by loved ones and family November 3, 2023.

Doris grew up in the Calcutta/East Liverpool area as a child, and in early adulthood moved to Cuyahoga Falls to raise a family. She worked and retired from J.C. Penney’s in the men’s suit department.

Doris enjoyed spending time on her front porch, her many family days, taking trips with her girlfriends and listening to music she grew up with. She will always be remembered for her smile that could light up a room, along with her genuine love she gave to those around her. She also was an avid fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

She will be missed dearly by her three daughters, Melody Vardon, Teresa Peebles and Cynthia Barnes; along with her grandchildren, Terrenie Barnes, Jessica Sayarath, and Joseph Vardon; and her many great-grandchildren and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Emerson and Bertha Barnes; brother, Emerson Barnes; sister, Jean Bickerton and her loving husband, Robert James.

A private service will be held in to honor Doris.
