CUYAHOGA FALLS- Doris (MacFarlane) Kuzas, 94, passed away May 15, 2023. She was born and raised in Cleveland, moving to Cuyahoga Falls in 1959. After raising her 2 sons, she worked in the Graduation Dept. at the University of Akron.
Doris belonged to the First United Methodist Church and was an active member of TOPS. She was a tour guide and member of the Women’s Board at Stan Hywet. She was famous for her shortbread – It was nothing for her to “throw together” a couple of batches before she even had her morning coffee. She loved playing bridge – usually 2-3 times a week. Her favorite thing to do, though, was watch the Cleveland Browns. She was a very vocal fan and Sunday activities were arranged around game time.
Preceded in death by her husband, George; son, Kenneth and brother, Donald; she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Elena; daughter-in-law, Kathy; grandchildren, Michael (Kyrstyn), Geoffrey (Jennifer), Christopher (Katie), Matthew, Andrew and Danielle (Adam), as well as 7 great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Nancy MacFarlane as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to a 3 PM memorial service on Monday May 22, 2023 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. In lieu other remembrances, donations may be made to the National MS Society.
