Doris Snyder

Cuyahoga Falls-Doris Snyder, 100, died August 27, 2022, after a period of declining health.

Born in Overton, WV July 7, 1922, to J.G. and Geraldine (Fickey) Sheets, she lived in FL, TX, NC, mainly Cuyahoga Falls, and most recently KS.

Doris married the love of her life, William H., August 12, 1944, and were together 55 years until his death December 4, 1999.

Surviving are daughters Joy (David) Ritchie of Buckhorn, Canada; Gay (William R.) Boden of Seville; son, William D. Snyder (Dr. Michael Hernandez of Salina, KS; grandchildren, Amy (Russell) Leadbetter and children Colson, Audra and Brynn of Westerville; William J. (Amy) Boden and children Pierce, Roslyn and Reid of Burbank; sisters, Jeanie Gibson of Scottsdale, AZ; Nancy Chrislip of Milford, and many nieces and nephews.

Doris loved their winters in FL after retirement, but especially their truck-camper trips with friends. A “gypsy” at heart.

She was a member of Church in th Falls and a 70 year member of Eastern Star Falls Chapter No. 245.

Friends may call from 11a.m.-1p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 6, 2022 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, where an Eastern Star service will be held at 1 p.m. followed by shared remembrances. Entombment will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to St. Jude or a hospice of your choice.
