Dorothy L. Montgomery

Dorothy L. Montgomery, 94, of Cuyahoga Falls passed away on October 10, 2023.

She was a deeply loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt who brought joy and happiness into the hearts and lives of those who knew her.  

She provided a loving home and taught the importance of family, kindness, giving, and God.

Born in Tennessee, raised in Akron, she met her husband Edward while both working at Goodyear. They married and built a home in Cuyahoga Falls. While raising two children, they took many memorable vacations together, had wonderful holiday gatherings, and were very active volunteers at their church.   

In her retirement years, she enjoyed her women’s golfing league, working in her beautiful backyard garden, being a member of the Cuyahoga Falls women’s club, baking and flower arranging. Her true joy was being with her family and friends.

Later in life, after her husband’s passing, she experienced love and joy again with her special friend Geno. They spent many happy years in each other’s company and taking trips to enjoy warmer climates.

Her passing will be met with the sweetest home coming from her loved ones on the other side. 

Preceded in death by her husband, Edward C; she is survived by her children, Gary and Diane (Carl) Konen; granddaughters Megan (Anthony) Pitt, Emily (Justin) Hodges, and Melissa (Austin) Shiver; and her 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy May; former daughter-in-law, Laura Montgomery and loving friend, Geno Mignogna.

Cremation has taken place and the family will be having private services at a later date.
