Listen to Obituary

Edward J. Sheehan, 76, of New York, passed away peacefully at home on April 8, 2026. Born on October 21, 1949, in Troy, Ed lived a life full of simple joys, strong connections, and a knack for fixing just about anything that came his way.

Ed worked at JJB Engineering Co., where his dedication and problem-solving skills were evident to all who knew him. Outside of work, he enjoyed watching racing and football, spending time with friends, and unwinding with a good margarita or a cold beer. He had a true talent for building computers and was always the one people turned to when something needed figured out-if there was a problem, Ed had a solution.

More than anything, Ed was a steady and loving presence in the lives of those around him. He is survived by his wife, Danette L. Sheehan; his son, Jeremy J. Sheehan (Meghan); his stepchildren, Shane M. Broadt and Sarah J. Broadt; grandchildren, Austin Broadt, Laila Hawkins, Journi Broadt, Bailee Broadt, Remi Sheehan and Lily Sheehan; and his brothers, Tim Sheehan (Julie) and Terry Sheehan (Shirley). He was preceded in death by his father, Edward J. Sheehan Sr., and his mother, Margaret Ann Hart.

Ed will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. His wife fondly remembers how he was always there to help when something couldn't be figured out, and how much she will miss his knowledge, his steady presence, and the smile she fell in love with from their very first date.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
