Eileen Frerichs

Eileen Faye (Helm) Frerichs was born on March 10, 1936 in Portland, Oregon. And received her education at Bend (Oregon) High School (1954), Concordia College (Portland, Oregon 1956), and Concordia Teachers College (Seward, Nebraska 1958). She married Donald Frerichs on August 23, 1963.

Eileen taught and was principal at Good Shepherd Lutheran School (Hayward, California), St. John Lutheran School (Seward, Nebraska), and in the Springfield (Illinois) Public School District. For much of her married life, Eileen was a stay-at-home mom. While living in Portland, Oregon she worked for World Book, Inc. and finally for Providence Newberg (Oregon) Hospital.

Eileen is survived by her husband, the Rev. Donald Frerichs; children, Luke (Tammy) Frerichs, the Rev. Paul (Deborah) Frerichs, Lois (David) Hughey and Matthew (Amy) Frerichs; and eight grandchildren.

Services were held on May 3, 2021 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Eric Tritten of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church officiating. Arrangements were by Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home. Inurnment was at Silver Springs Cemetery in Stow. Livestream may be accessed at www.redeemerlutheran.us.
