Elena Marie DieGidio- McGall, lovingly known as Laini, sunrise April 14, 1975, in Hudson, Ohio, and sunset on April 20, 2026 at 10:42 AM.

She is a devoted mother of three—Tatum; stepchildren, James, and Christina—and a proud grandmother to her grandson, Easton. She is also survived by her husband, Mike; her brother, Lee; her nephew, Carson; her sisters-in-law, Gayle, Lisa, and Sydney; her brother-in-law, Greg; and her beloved cats, Jupi-Tigger and Elliot. She was preceded in death by her parents, Linda and Leon.

Laini was known for her sharp wit, unmatched sarcasm, and humor that could catch anyone off guard in the best way. She was incredibly intelligent and always seemed to have the right answer, the best advice, or the exact words someone needed to hear—whether you were ready to hear it or not.

She loved deeply and showed it through both her actions and her words. Whether it was spoiling the people she loved or giving honest, sometimes brutally real advice, she always made sure her family was taken care of. Family meant everything to her, and she was a devoted mother, wife, sister, and aunt through it all.

She had a love for the simple things—watching NCIS, Bar Rescue, and Law & Order, shopping, tanning in the sunshine, and spending time with her family, especially her children. One of her favorite things was napping alongside her daughter, moments that will always be cherished.

Laini was incredibly strong, having faced more than most, yet she continued to show up every single day for the people she loved. Her resilience, humor, and love will never be forgotten.

And in true Laini fashion—if you’re reading this, she’d probably tell you to stop crying, get it together, and go grab a Diet Coke and a shot of Three Olives Cherry.

Mom, I already know you’d tell me to stop crying and get it together—but I’m going to miss you more than anything. Thank you for every piece of love and every bit of advice you gave me. I’ll carry you with me forever. I love you.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and impossible to forget. She also leaves behind many friends and extended family members who will cherish her memory.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Humane Society of Summit County, 752 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
