Florence Gertrude "Gert" Moore

Florence Gertrude "Gert" Moore, 96, died peacefully on April 1, 2022 in Copley, Ohio.She was born in Clymer, PA to Agnes and Verner Anderson.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Lawrence Anderson; her daughter, Carol Disbrow; stepdaughter, Theresa James; and step-granddaughter, Shannon James.  She is survived by husband of 46 years, John Moore, sister Laverne Mansour, daughters Flo (Gary) Liedel, Georgeanna (Stephen) Stoner, Michele (Dave) Whitehurst, Teresa Wasserstrom Forney (Bruce), stepson, Michael Moore, thirteen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

Gert graduated from Nanty Glo (PA) High School and moved to Akron in 1943. She lived in Cuyahoga Falls for over 40 years.

Gert was a working mother well before it became the norm. She worked at the family business, Jesser's Bar, before working for the City of  Cuyahoga Falls, retiring in 1984.  Gert was an active and much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Gert's loving heart and colorful humor brought smiles to many. The family wishes to thank the staff at Concordia Assisted Living and Elara Hospice for their kindness in Gert's final months. 

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a memorial service at 11:00 am on Friday, April 8, 2022, at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
