Frederick Grimes

Frederick R. Grimes, 80, died at his residence June 18, 2006. Mr. Grimes was born in Cuyahoga Falls, where he had resided his entire life. He had been a firefighter for the City of Cuyahoga Falls retiring as Lieutenant in 1980 with 30 years service and was a member of Firefighter's Local #494. He was a veteran of WW2 having served with the U. S. Navy and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Fred enjoyed his family fishing trips to Canada, dearly loved his family and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Hilda Grimes; brothers, Billy and Danny Grimes and sister, Linda Connor; he is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Juanita; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Sue Grimes of Norton and Terry and Vicki Grimes of Tallmadge; daughter, Lori Rice of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Michelle (Dana) Lawson, Michael (his fianc? Crystal) Grimes, Sunny (Louis) Schmidt, Leah, Lauren and Gregory Grimes, Sean and Collin Rice; great-grandchildren, Trystian Lawson and Brighton Schmidt; sisters, Betty Grether of Orlando, FL and Carole (Ed) Clemens of Norfolk, VA and sister-in-law, Bonnie Shackelford of Cuyahoga Falls.

The Family would like to express special thanks to Gail Kubick and the entire staff of Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Wednesday in Oakwood Cemetery, Rev. Bill Tompkin officiating.
