Gerald Thomas Neff

Gerald Thomas Neff, fondly known as Jerry, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on May 25, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on December 21, 1932, in Akron, Ohio, he lived a life marked by dedication, love, and service.

A proud veteran, Jerry served in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he attained the rank of Private First Class before being honorably discharged in 1955. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career at the Goodyear Tire Tech Center, dedicating 43 years to the company before retiring in 1995. Serving in his military community was big to Jerry and he was a proud member of the American Legion for 34 years.

Jerry was a loving husband to his wife, Donna Neff, with whom he shared 69 remarkable years of marriage. Together, they built a family that radiated love and laughter. He is survived by his devoted son, Donald Neff; daughters Carol (Richard) Duckworth and Julie (Clay) Wade; and granddaughter Kellie Smith alongside her partner Rebbie Koester. Jerry was a proud grandfather to Jonathan Duckworth, Amanda Wade, and great-grandfather to Madelyn Smith, McKenzie Smith, Mia Smith, and Michael Smith. He also cherished the bond with his brother Kenneth Neff and Ken's long time friend Rita Tinker.

Jerry’s personality shone brightly; he was known as a hard worker and a great provider. His hobbies included traveling, camping, birdwatching, and most importantly, spending quality time with his family. His last week was dedicated to creating lasting memories on vacation with loved ones, a testament to his unwavering commitment to family.

Jerry was predeceased by his father Joseph Neff, mother Esther Neff, and brothers Earl, Ervin, and Richard Neff. Their memories will forever live on in those who knew him.

Visitation services will be held at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, located at 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. The first visitation will take place on June 2, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by another visitation on June 3, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The funeral service will commence on the same day, June 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM.

Gerald Thomas Neff will be remembered for his deep love for his family and his steadfast character. His legacy of hard work, dedication, and love will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
