Listen to Obituary

Heidi Marie Myers, 83, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026. Born on July 7, 1942, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Heidi lived a life rooted in compassion, faith, family, and community service.

Heidi earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Akron and later completed her Master’s in Nursing from Kent State University. She dedicated her life to caring for others through her nursing career, beginning at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital, now Western Reserve Hospital, before continuing her work at Summa Health in both oncology and the emergency room. She later retired from a position in Staff Development, where she continued mentoring and supporting fellow healthcare professionals.

Faith played a central role in Heidi’s life. She was a devoted member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where she was active in the choir, Episcopal Church Women, St. Teresa’s Guild, Lay Eucharistic Ministry, Sunday School, and served on the vestry. She also gave generously of her time as a Girl Scout troop leader and elementary school library volunteer.

Heidi embraced life fully and found joy in many passions. She was an avid swimmer, wine connoisseur, and world traveler who especially loved cruising and exploring new places. She enjoyed music of all kinds, from local high school marching bands to the Cleveland Orchestra, and was rarely without a book or crossword puzzle nearby-always completed in pen. A lifelong Cleveland baseball and football fan, Heidi treasured attending games from the time she was a little girl.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry Myers; her granddaughter, Paige Myers; her sisters, Lisa Hall and Vicky Miller; her brother, Joseph Mell; and her parents, Ida Belle and Fred Gloor.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Christopher Myers (Anne), Greta Myers, Meghen Vance (David), and Kelly Tucker (Michael); her grandchildren, Jared Myers, Heidi Murray (Austin), Jane Vance, Amelia Mollica, Gabriella Mollica, Riley Tichenor, and Josey Tucker; her sisters, Virginia Negrelli and Phyllis Bott (Richard); her brother, Fred Gloor (Sherry); along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of Reserve Care Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
