James Lockert

James Eugene Lockert, age 89, died from prostate cancer on August 19, 2018.

​Born on July 30, 1929, Jim was a lifelong resident of Peninsula, OH and a veteran of the Korean War. He loved spending time with his family, and was preceded in death by his mother Hattie Seeley Lockert and his siblings Bill (and Audrey) Lockert, Dory (and Sandy) Sanders, Kate (and Jim) Kennedy, and Mildred Anderson Lockert.

​On July 28, 1973 he married his beloved wife, Milena Glocar Lockert, and mourned her death in 2010.

​Jim is remembered by his daughter Lia and son-in-law Kevin Martinez, brother Vern, nephew Ray Kennedy, and so many generations of relatives, neighbors and friends who enjoyed his humor, curiosity, kindness, generosity and good conversation.

​All are invited to celebrate his life November 24, 2018 with a memorial gathering at the GAR Hall in Peninsula, OH from noon-3pm. Gifts may be donated to the Peninsula Library Foundation.
