James David Sowers "Dave"

James David Sowers, 78, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026. Dave was born on September 15, 1947, in Akron, Ohio.

Dave dedicated many years of his career to MacTac before becoming a proud business agent for Teamsters Local 348, where he was known for his strong work ethic and straightforward nature. Outside of work, he had a passion for motorcycles and a deep appreciation for muscle cars, always enjoying the thrill of the ride and the roar of a good engine.

Above all, Dave was most proud of his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jody Sowers; his daughters, Lori (Larry) Walker and Lisa (Gary) Ohler; his cherished grandchildren, Grace and Tristan Ohler; his sister, Sandy Fritz; brother-in-law, Chuck (Jan) James; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Isola Sowers; his brothers, Jerry and Michael; and in-laws, Chuck and Helen James.

Dave will be remembered for his love of family, his many friendships, and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures. Especially time spent with those he loved most. He was most proud of his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will take place at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be holding a memorial toast at Bailey Road Tavern, Saturday April 11th, 2026 at 3pm.
