Jane Elizabeth Zinko Cizmar passed away on July 15, 2026, after a brief stay in hospice care following an injury. Jane was a teacher with Tallmadge City Schools for 43 years, where she taught Latin, English, and Language Arts. She is remembered as a survivor who never backed away from a fight and was a passionate advocate for all she believed in. Her favorite hobby was cooking and baking, and she regularly delighted those around her with delicious treats.
Jane was the youngest of five children born to William and Velma Zinko. She graduated from Rayen High School in Youngstown in 1964 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in English and Latin from Youngstown State University in 1968. She later received her Master of Arts in Education from The University of Akron.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Velma Zinko.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Martin Cizmar and Anne (Ozan) Cizmar Kalkan; and her granddaughters, Isla Cizmar and Katherine Kalkan.
Friends and family are welcome for visitation on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221.
Inurnment will take place at a later date at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jane's honor may be made to Safe Landing Youth Shelter of Akron or Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio.
