Jennifer Michelle Morse, age 48, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, at her residence in Richmond, Virginia, her much-loved adopted city.

Born on Friday, September 2, 1977, Jennifer was a beautiful baby who grew into an angelic-looking little girl, with shiny light brown curly hair that glowed in the sunshine. She matured into a lovely, compassionate human being, loved by family and friends alike.

Jen was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and the University of Akron with a BA in education. School was hard for Jen. A high school math teacher at CFHS and two UA professors suggested she consider teaching high school math because, though it was hard for her to learn, it gave her insight to teach others. She taught high school math in Mogadore, Ohio, Georgia, and Virginia. She left teaching for a while prior to the pandemic but kept up her teaching credentials and was preparing to go back to teaching again in the fall of 2026.

From an early age, Jen was athletic. When she was young, her family nicknamed her Mountain Goat because of her antics while playing in the neighborhood parks, going to the library, walking around the block, even playing in the house. Jen was on the girls’ gymnastics team at the Falls Family YMCA for a number of years—further enforcing her nickname of Mountain Goat. Ahhh, that balance beam! And the floor! It was a joy to watch her.

Jen also enjoyed hiking, swimming, and picnics at Munroe Falls Metro Park every summer. Jen's favorite times were annual family vacations in Pointe Au Baril, Ontario, at the family cottage on a remote island—no electricity, but at least the bathroom was inside! Swimming, hiking, even portaging canoes over waterfalls were everyday activities those summers at the cottage!

Jen found her dream town in Richmond, Virginia, on June 10, 2010, which she dubbed "Jen Morse Day." While in Richmond, she joined various athletic training teams, ran marathons, half marathons.... even a mini-triathlon. After sustaining a running injury which was not helped with surgery, she continued to hike and swim. She also joined the RVA Euchre meetup and a Spades meetup. She dearly loved her euchre and spades peeps!

Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ray and Kitty Householder of Brooksville, Florida; Jack and Kay Morse of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and uncle, Frank Morse of Caldwell, Ohio. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her parents, Jack and Kathy Morse of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Sean Sheets, nieces, Ezri Sheets and Liat Sheets, of Copley, Ohio; aunt, Jo Sobkow of Novi, Michigan; aunt, Jill Morse of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; cousins, Tracy (Rahn) Rosentreter of Chelsea, Michigan; Jill (Joe) Henderson of Brentwood, Tennessee; Lindsay Treubert Morse (Eric Jones) of Pickerington, Ohio; Rylee Rosentreter (Nathan Kremer); Tess Henderson; Jake Henderson; Max Henderson; Zane Jones; Blaize Jones.

Jen's family was smallish, but many family friends are a vital part of Jen's family and history: Jan and Jeff Brenneman, Kevin and Seth; Becky and Tim Crossland, Ian, Max, and Michael; our Canadian counterparts from the Bowmanville, Ontario, area and Pointe Au Baril, Ontario, Penny Anne and David Davidson (both deceased), Tim (deceased) (Sheila), Rob (Ximena), Heather, aka Lucy (Karl), Jamie (Sarah), Amy (Matt, deceased), their many children; Cheryl and Brad (deceased) Roberts, Chad (Anitra), Brian, Melissa (Dan); Mary (Chris) Barrow and Dave Wilson (deceased), Brett (Megan), Chris (Shellie), Patrick (Brooklyn), and Lucas.

Jen had many friends and acquaintances in her adopted hometown of Richmond, three of whom made Jen's family's visit to retrieve Jen after her death so much easier: Karen Jaeger, Blair Whitley, and Marci Semeraro. You three helped more than you can ever know. Thank you sincerely from Jen's entire family.
