Joel Waite Bacon

Joel Waite Bacon, 83, passed away April 30, 2026. Joel was born February 16, 1943 in Lakewood, Ohio and resided in Cuyahoga Falls most of his life. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1961. Joel worked several years at Firestone in Akron. He also worked at Consolidated Freightways and retired as a truck driver from Alro Steel in 2007.

He enjoyed his motorcycles, model trains, fishing and a good meal prepared by his beloved wife. He also loved spending time with family. Preceded in death by his parents, Joel and Betty Bacon, sister, Nancy (Ken) Koch , sister Anne (Michael) Banales; step-granddaughter Ryanna Salberg.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Janet; brother John Edward Bacon; daughter, Barbara Ann (Steve) Honeycutt; grandchildren, Hannah (Andrew) Miller, Ryan Honeycutt and special niece Erin (Gregg) Howard ; step-sons Michael R. Salberg, Mark R. (Joy) Salberg and Will C. (Pam) Salberg; step-grandchildren, Sarah (Dustin) Kisamore, Nicole (DJ) Rhodes, Rachel (Michael) Robinson, Adam (Alivia) Salberg; step-great grandchildren, Colton and Logan Kisamore, Peyton, Harper and Averie Rhodes and Roseanna Robinson. And special friends Laurie (John) Dain.

Private service for immediate family only on Saturday, May 9 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, Oh, 44221. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
