Joseph Edward Meissner Sr., age 82, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; owner, operator, and groomer of Falls Boarding Kennels for 58 years, passed away peacefully June 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 19, 1942, in Salem, Ohio, to John and Pauline Meissner, Joe lived a life rooted in devotion, hard work, and family. He was a graduate of West Branch High School's first graduating class in 1961, it was there he met the love of his life, Linda. The two were married for 63 beautiful years, growing up and growing old together, side by side.
Known affectionately as “Mr. Touchdown” during his high school football days, Joe was later inducted into the West Branch Hall of Fame on September 21, 2013 - a testament to the lasting impact he made on and off the field.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pauline Meissner; his sisters Helen Moore, Margaret Sabatino, and Alice Dangelo; and his brother John A. Meissner.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda (Sanor) Meissner; his sisters Barbara Kline and Catherine Greeneisen, his children JoAnn (Pete) Kuhn, Joseph (Kelli) Meissner Jr., Marjorie (Glenn) Pask, and his grandchildren Andrew (Nicole) Meissner, Kevin (Kelly) Pask, Julie (Larry) Pask, Samantha Meissner, and Molli Meissner; and his great-grandchildren Sutton, Karter, Ashlynn, Malayah, Madeline, Kinnsley, and Tyler, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joe enjoyed coaching Little League baseball, training and racing standardbred horses, fishing, and gardening. His greatest passion was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, gentle heart, and the deep unconditional love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in all of us who were blessed to know and love him.
Our family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Ohio Living Home Health and Hospice team for their dedication, compassion, and care during the final chapter of Joe’s life.
