Julie M. Hanna

Cuyahoga Falls – Julie M. Hanna of Cuyahoga Falls, lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at the age of 59. Julie was born on September 16, 1962 in Akron, OH, daughter of the late Marcus and Monique Hanna.

Julie was a graduate of Western Reserve Academy and went on to receive her Bachelor's degree in French and English from Duke University. She began her teaching career as a volunteer with the Peace Corps for 2 years in Zaire. Upon her return to the United States, she taught in the Akron Public Schools for 6 years while simultaneously attending Kent State University, where she received her Master's degree. She retired in 2018 from Revere High School where she enjoyed teaching students for 25 years.


She is survived by her partner, Stephane Jalbert; husband, Jesse Wright; brother, Marc (Julia) Hanna; and many other family and friends.
