Kathleen Hayes

Kathleen Hayes (8/13/1951 to 2/13/2024) was born in Akron and raised in Cuyahoga Falls, attended St. Joseph Elementary then graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1969. She later took classes at Akron U. and St. Thomas School of Nursing before being hired as a registered nurse at Akron City Hospital. She retired in 2008 after working in a variety of capacities at three different hospitals in New Orleans. She fell in love with the food, music and culture of the city, then moved back to Akron from whence she came. She enjoyed traveling and watching the Browns and the Saints! 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alice Walzer, son, Karl d’Aquin, husband, Charles d’Aquin, brother, Steve and niece, Sarah Walzer. She is survived by son, Joel d’Aquin, granddaughter Alexis D’Aquin, sister, Christine Landry, brother, Michael Walzer, and of course Jennifer Parr, the mother of Alexis, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 4:00 until time of service at 4:30 pm at Clifford Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221. 

In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
