Kaylee Zimmerman, 31, passed away May 27, 2025. Born March 31, 1994, in Cuyahoga Falls, Kaylee brought light, laughter, and fierce love to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A proud graduate of Stow-Munroe Falls High School, Kaylee had a deep compassion for animals and a passion for rescue work, which she shared with her mom. Together, they fostered animals, giving them a second chance and a loving home. Her heart was huge—she cared for both people and pets with equal devotion and tenderness.
Kaylee was vibrant, funny, and had a colorful way with words. She loved tacos, spontaneous gift-giving, shopping trips, and playing Dungeons & Dragons with her friends. Her infectious laugh could brighten the darkest room, and her stories always left everyone smiling. Even while quietly battling chronic illness, Kaylee showed remarkable resilience, never letting her struggle dull her ability to lift others up. She had a way of making everyone feel included, seen, and truly cared for.
Family was everything to Kaylee. She was her daddy’s girl, inseparable from her father Joe, they had a bond like no other. She was everyone’s “baby girl”. Her love was bold and unconditional; if Kaylee loved you, you knew it beyond a doubt. She had your back through every storm and would have fought a lion for those she cherished.
Kaylee is survived by her devoted parents, Joe and Shauntelle Zimmerman; her loving brother, John Zimmerman; her grandmother, Karen Wood; grandparents, John and Carol Wood, aunts and uncles, Glen (Amy) Wood, Tamra Wood, Danielle Bowman, Maryann (Bill) Myers, Peggy (Ron) Beck, John (Laura) Zimmerman, Alice (Paul) Adkins and many cousins, and friends. She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Ed and Marge Zimmerman; uncle, John Wood Jr.; and aunt, Carolyn Houser.
We will miss her storytelling, her random "just because" gifts, her fierce spirit, and her ability to love with every fiber of her being. Kaylee left a lasting impression on everyone she met, and though her time with us was too short, her love lives on in all of us.
A celebration of her life will be announced later. Donations in Kaylee's memory may made to your local pet rescue.
