Laura Trachsel

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Laura Jeanne Trachsel died at home with her family beside her on May 16th, 2006. Born in Lafayette, Indiana, She lived most of her life in Cuyahoga Falls, although she always cherished her Hoosier roots, heritage and family.

Jeanne is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Adrian; her loving children, Kathy (Ray) McDonnell, Cindy (Jon) Held, and Michael (Sandy) Trachsel. She also leaves her most precious grandchildren, Mark Mendoza, Andrew Held, Kathryn Held and Stephen Trachsel. In addition, she leaves six great-grandchildren.

The family is so grateful for the care of mom by Meg Heideman and Nancy Moore of Five West at City Hospital. They also appreciate the care and love provided by her "adopted daughter" Susan Long.

Jeanne will always be remembered fondly for her huge heart, her generous spirit, and love of the Cleveland Indians. She was a founding member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish and was known to indulge in the "occasional" bingo game in the Parish hall.

He family has always come first in her life and we marvel at how someone so frugal could be so generous. We will all strive to continue her legacy of giving.

Calling hours will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street in Cuyahoga Falls. A celebration of her life and love will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Northlawn Cemetery. Instead of flowers, mom would appreciate donations be made to The Summit County Humane Society, 4904 Quick Road, Peninsula, OH 44264.

"Keep us, Lord, so awake in the duties of our callings that we may sleep in Thy peace and wake in Thy glory." (John Donne)
