Laurel “Lynn” Rodkey, 91, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026. She was born in Akron, Ohio, to the late Richard and Eleanor Robinson.
Lynn lived a life centered on family, friendship, faith, and service. She was a constant volunteer at Good Neighbors, faithful member of Grandview United Methodist Church for 50 years, and participated in many bible studies and groups. She especially loved time spent at her cottage on Devil Lake, Ontario, Canada, where family gathered for card games, puzzles, laughter, and countless treasured moments on the lake. An avid nature and animal lover, Lynn had a special place in her heart for dogs, cats, horses, and just about any animal she encountered.
Known for her steadfastness, Lynn was someone who always found a way to get things done. She had a wonderful sense of humor, taught those around her to laugh at themselves, and found joy in life's simple moments. She was always creating something, whether that be a painting, pie, wool hat, or a craft. Her family will fondly remember her warmth, laughter, and the traditions and memories she helped create over the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; brother, Larry Robinson; step-daughter, Kathy Rodkey; and step-son, Mike Rodkey.
She is survived by her children, Victoria (Scott) Mathews, Kimberly (Dan) Coulter, Jeffrey (Nancy) Vargo, and Todd Vargo; step-children, Susan Upshaw, Mary Anne Caskey, Jon Rodkey, and Barbara Meadows; 27 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; niece, Deborah (Dave) Heffelfinger; and many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Memorial calling hours will be held at Grandview United Methodist Church on Thursday July 2, 20026 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a memorial service immediately following at 11 a.m.
