Luther Henry Hutchinson Jr.

Luther Henry “Lu” Hutchinson, Jr., 78, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on September 13, 2025, after a brief illness. He was born on May 13, 1947, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, to the late Luther H. Hutchinson, Sr. and Eleanor (Brandt) Hutchinson.

After moving to Cuyahoga Falls to raise his family, Lu became an active member of the community. He dedicated time to coaching youth soccer and served as President of the Maws and Paws Booster Club. As an avid golfer, he shared his love for the game with the Hudson Special Olympics golf team, where his encouragement and patience inspired many.

Lu also enjoyed beach trips to the East Coast with family and friends over the years, creating many wonderful memories that will be cherished by all who loved him.

Lu built a successful career in the car business, where his work ethic and easy-going nature left a lasting mark on colleagues and customers alike. After retiring, he continued to serve his community by driving school buses for Cuyahoga Falls and Stow City Schools, a role he truly enjoyed.

Lu leaves behind the love of his life, Rebecca (Kenyon) Hutchinson, his devoted wife of 54 years. He was the loving father of Kerry (Jon) Jacobsen, Blake (Nicole) Hutchinson, and Craig Hutchinson. He was also a proud Pop-Pop to his grandsons, James and Jack, who brought him endless joy.

He is also survived by his brother, Rick (Linda) Hutchinson, sister, Ann (Craig) Jenkins, brother-in-law, Steve (Jane) Kenyon and nieces and nephews, Matt, Laura, Nate, Katie, Seth, Chelsea, Cortney, Katy, Andrew, Hillary, Tyler and Adrian.

Lu will be remembered for kindness, steady presence, and deep love for his family. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Friday September 19, 2025, at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
