M. Nancy Heaton

M. Nancy Heaton, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2022 at the age of 92.  Nancy was a graduate of St. Vincent High School and St. Thomas School of Nursing, Class of 1951.  She retired from St. Thomas Hospital in 1993 and was a member of the St. Thomas Nurse Alumni.  Nancy had been an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church since 1937, where she served as a Minister of Eucharist, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, and SVDP Society.  Nancy devoted countless hours to helping others and served as a volunteer at St. Thomas-Summa Health System, and Good Neighbors of Cuyahoga Falls.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl D. Heaton; parents, John B. and Mary Sporer, sister, Joanne Over, and son, James C. Heaton.

Nancy will be dearly missed by her children, Lynn Black, Jeanette (Ian) Greenhill, John (Mary Ann) Heaton, Thomas (Cheryl) Heaton, Timothy Heaton, and Mary (Shawn) Alford; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Judy (Charles) Maghes; sister-in-law, Kay Sertell, and numerous extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 4-8 pm, with the Rosary to be prayed beginning at 3:40 pm in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, July 19, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1761 2nd St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 20 at 1 pm at Oakwood Cemetery, 2420 Oakwood Dr., Cuyahoga Falls.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a Memorial Mass or donations to SVDP-St. Joseph Church or Good Neighbors of Cuyahoga Falls.
