PORTAGE LAKES - Mae M. Shoemaker (nee McClister) passed away at her residence October 12, 2004. Mrs. Shoemaker was born in Akron, graduated from North High School in 1936 and had resided in Portage Lakes most of her life. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and Green Seniors and a past member of Portage Lakes AARP. She was a longtime volunteer at Barberton Citizens Hospital, loved playing cards at Firestone Seniors and St. Augustine's and always saved room for dessert. Her contagious laugh and her love for her grandchildren and Arden will never be forgotten.

Preceded in death by her husband, Milton E, twin sister, Fae Workman and grand-son-in-law, Adam Benton she is survived by her daughter, Sandi Madick of City of Green; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Marty Shoemaker of Coventry Twp; grandchildren, Lisa Benton, Kendy Madick (her fiancee Mark Youngman), Carrie Madick (honorary grandson, D. J. Biasella), Tracy Shoemaker and Steve Shoemaker and great-granddaughter, Arden Benton.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Friday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday, Rev. Jeffrey A. Hancock officiating. Interment Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The Family suggests memorials be made to Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church 4700 S. Main St. Akron, OH 44319 or the Humane Society 4904 Quick Rd. Peninsula, OH 44264.
