Marianna "Marge" Blocksom

Munroe Falls- Marianna Blocksom passed away April 3, 2023, at the age of 93.

Marianna was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and the registered nursing program at the Salem Hospital School of Nursing in Salem, Ohio and married William Blocksom on June 23, 1951. She began her career as head nurse of the emergency ward at Akron Children’s Hospital, spent many years as the nurse for Dr. John Soquel, and ended her career by working in nursing homes.

Marianna enjoyed the company of her family, especially her many brothers and sisters. She enjoyed bowling on leagues for many years with her mother, sisters, aunts and friends. She was a member of a women’s card club that met for over 50 years. She was especially happy when on vacation, especially at the beach. She liked crafts and crochet. She especially enjoyed hosting the yearly family reunion on Labor Day weekend for over 40 years.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Alexander and Donita Glenny, her brothers David and James, her daughter, Terry Robinson and her husband, William.

She will be missed by her son, William, her granddaughter, Lauren; siblings, Bonnie (Roger) Claypoole, Donald (Maryann) Glenny, Diane Tillinger, Alan Glenny, and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 and a memorial service on April 18, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Clifford Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
