Marilyn G. Funk (nee Bosse) went to be with JESUS early Monday, December 22nd. She was born to Vernon H. and Grace (Schmitt) Bosse on March 3, 1930 in Evansville, Indiana, along with her fraternal twin sister, Carolyn. They were raised by their paternal grandparents following the death of their mother shortly after their birth. Marilyn graduated from Western College for Women with a music and education degree, and taught elementary school for a few years prior to her marriage.

Marilyn married Ralph D. Funk on June 18, 1955. They lived in Evansville for a short time but afterward made their home in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, where they raised five daughters. Marilyn directed choir, taught piano, worked as a hospital volunteer and was active in her local church. She remained in Cuyahoga Falls until returning to Evansville in 1999 to live with her widowed sister, following the death of her husband, Ralph, in 1990. Marilyn remained in Evansville until her sister's hospitalization in November 2012, at which time she moved to Lake City to live with her daughter and son in law.

Marilyn was an active member of Wellborn Baptist Church. She lived a long, full life and a will be remembered for her love for her LORD, her servant's heart and love for her family.

Marilyn was preceded in death by both parents, her husband and her twin sister. She leaves behind 5 daughters: Nina Howd (Jerry) of Lake City, Cara Arnold (Dan) of Leesburg, Kristen Farrar (Mike) of Clermont, Deirdre Khakhaz (Moe) of Huntington Beach, CA and Dorian Theberge (Mike) of Torrance, CA. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, from coast to coast.

Marilyn's Celebration of Life will be held at Wellborn Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 30th. Family visitation begins at 3:30pm, followed by a joyous time of remembrance. Memorial donations are directed to be made to Haven Hospice Foundation in lieu of flowers.
