Marilyn Jean Welch passed from this earth on November 5, 2024 at the age of 95.
Marilyn was born February 17, 1929 to parents Donald and Matilda Lees. She lived in Cuyahoga Falls, OH most of her life. Marilyn had a happy childhood with her younger sister (Ruth) and two younger brothers (Donald and Jerry). She married her Cuyahoga Falls High School sweetheart, John Welch, in June 1950 and they started their own family, consisting of three daughters. The couple built a house in Northampton, which is now a part of Cuyahoga Falls. They enjoyed entertaining family and friends, hosting large family yearly holiday gatherings, and an annual open house before Christmas. The couple enjoyed traveling to other countries and eventually bought a camper that enabled them to see more of the U.S. after the children were raised.
Marilyn was artistic and enjoyed painting, drawing, crocheting and crafts. She was a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ and served on many boards there. She was also a member of Cuyahoga Falls Women's City Club as well as the Northampton Civic Association. She delivered for Mobile Meals and was a Girl Scout leader. Marilyn was a good mother who raised her daughters well and was a second mother to a lot of their friends.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters Pat Maloney (friend Bud), Linda Breedlove (Wes), Cindy Lane (Derrel); grandchildren Cari and Bryan Maloney and Bill (Janet) and Matt Jordan and Joel Larabee, three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Woodhull. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband and brothers.
