CANAL FULTON – Mary Carmon “Bootie” Ayers, 98, passed away August 4, 2019.

Mary was born in Elkins, WV to James Alba and Dolly Grace (Taylor) Vanscoy.  She graduated from Elkins High School and Capital Academy of Beauty Culture in Charleston, WV and worked as a beautician before moving to Cuyahoga Falls where she worked at the F. W. Woolworth Company.  She enjoyed crafts, cross stitch, reading, crossword and yard sales.  She enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, James Alfred Ayers and ten of twelve brothers and sisters, she is survived by her sons, James Patrick “Pat” (Ida) Ayers of Wooster and Danny Richard “Rick” (Yolanda) Ayers of Canal Fulton; grandchildren, Jason (Lori) Ayers, Jennifer (Bob) Howell, Chris (Lisa) Webb, Tiffany (Jessie) Combs, Kimberly (Steve) Myers and Kevin (Carolyn) Ayers; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Hubert Dale (Betty) Vanscoy and Howard Randolph Vanscoy; sister-in-law, Mildred Vanscoy and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours.  The family will have a private graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chapel Hill Community, 12200 Strausser St., NW Canal Fulton, OH 44614-9479.
