CUYAHOGA FALLS- Michael H. Heinl, 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 21, 2023. He was born in Akron to the late James and Catherine and was a lifelong area resident. Michael proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force going on to work as a general manager for Logan Machine retiring after 40 years of service. Michael served as a reserve police officer for the city of Cuyahoga Falls and in his retirement he worked security for Akron Children’s Hospital. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary, the American Legion Post 281, Knights of Columbus 3529, FOPA #31 and the Moose 918. Michael enjoyed golf, horseback riding at the dude ranch, the outdoors, feeding the deer and loved spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Brian; he is survived his wife of 61 years, Marilyn (nee Brady); children, Michelle (Joe) Pelle, Michael (Sue) Heinl and Maureen (Brian) Mynhier; grandchildren “Papa’s Caddies”, Kristina (Paul) Martin, Kaitlynn Heinl, Branden (Marie) Pelle, Daniel (Lindsey) Budyka, Matthew Heinl, and Ashley (Troy) Arneson; 5 great-grandchildren and several brothers, sisters, extended family and many friends.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at The Gardens of Cuyahoga Falls and the ICU department at Western Reserve Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Thursday January 26, 2023 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Friday January 27 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 1905 Portage Trail Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223. Fr. Thomas McCann will be officiating. Donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
