Norman Trommer, 95, of Pine Knolls Shore, NC passed away there unexpectedly on February 8, 2021.
He was born in Akron, OH July 3, 1925. After graduating from Stow High School he was drafted and joined the U.S. Navy to fight in WW2 serving from 1943 to 1945. As a petty officer aboard the USS. Bunker Hill he was a flight crew member on active duty in the Pacific. He flew missions as a radio/radar operator in a TBM Avenger.
Returning home from WW2 he graduated from Kent State as a chemical engineer. He worked for General Tire as a plant manager of their latex division in Mogadore, Ohio, retired from there and moved with his wife Kathy to their beach home in Pine Knolls Shore, NC.
Norm had many interests. He enjoyed the Wallstreet Journal and breakfast McCafe, boating, fishing, golf, tennis and fixing anything that was broken. He volunteered as a tax aid with AARP for 30years, was a crew member on Pine Knolls Shore EMT unit and helped with many community events.
He is survived by his loving family; wife, Kathy, children, Lynda (Phil) Phelps, Jill Parker, Carolyn (Nick) Locicero, step-children, Sue (Doug) Broadway, Pat (Stephen) Perez, Michael, Joe and Gary Lambach; brother, Bill Trommer; sister, Barb Rotunda; and many grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Gidley; son, Scott Trommer; parents, Charles and Beatrice Trommer; brothers, Charles, Russell and Herbert Trommer and sister Eleanor Harrison.

There will be a graveside service on Friday November 11, 2022, at Oakwood Cemetery, in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, at 10am.
