Raymond Robert Auman

Raymond Robert Auman 1936 – 2024

Raymond was devoted to his family and demonstrated his love for the Lord in his mission work.  Raymond Robert Auman was born in Akron, Ohio on July 23rd, 1936 and died in Kettering, Ohio on February 1st 2024.

In Raymond’s early life he was a Navy veteran and married Janet Williams in 1960.  He graduated from Akron University in 1964 with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.  Very shortly after graduation he was hired by Firestone Tire and Rubber and during his career he moved into upper management.  He was a professional Engineer most of his career.  He retired in 1991.  Raymond earned the 33rd degree in Masonry.  He enjoyed a vibrant retirement.  He and his wife Janet enjoyed Church life.  Along the way he and Janet served the Lord in a variety of missionary settings, from humanitarian to medical, from Africa to South America to the Southern United States.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Janet, and his brother Francis Auman, Jr.  His daughter Janice Louise Finlaw passed away last year.  Surviving family members include his sister Shirley Haley, his daughter Cheryl Lynn Jansen and son Daniel Robert Auman.  Raymond has seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Visitation will take place from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm, with a service following directly at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Grandview United Methodist Church, 2315 Phelps Ave, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223. Burial to follow at Chestnut Hill cemetery.
