Raymond Lafeber

Raymond "Ray" Lafeber, 87, passed away on January 18, 2022. Ray was born January 9, 1935 in Chicago, Ill to the late Nicholas and Anna Lafeber. At 17 Ray enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War. He proudly served as a sergeant, M.P., and Firefighter.After his return he married his beloved wife Helen (Magazeni) and they celebrated 66 years of marriage. Ray enjoyed working as a Bricklayer and Business agent for Akron Local Number 7. He enjoyed family gatherings, shooting sports, and Notre Dame football.

Ray will be missed by his wife, Helen; children, Nanette (Rick) Knotts, Carol (Greg) Weimer; grandchildren, Kelli (Drew) Slater, Kristin (Brandon) Bowers, Mallori Pedone (Jim Logan), Megan Ball (Joe Lattur), Stacy and Michael Weimer; great grandchildren, Parker Griffin, Avery and Addison Slater; many nieces nephews and his beloved Dog, Macy. Ray had a special nickname for each of his family members which we will all cherish.


Per Rays wishes there will be a private graveside military service at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park in Cuyahoga Falls. Memorial donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516. Arrangements entrust to the Clifford Shoemaker Funeral Home. Semper Fi !
