Richard Cerrito, Sr.

CUYAHOGA FALLS – STOW – Richard W. Cerrito Sr., 77, passed away on January 5, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen, and his brothers William and Kenneth.

Richard will be missed by his wife of (55 of years), Marie; children Richard (Tara) Cerrito Jr., Diane (Thomas) Overfield, grandchildren, Alexander (Emily) Overfield, Kara Overfield, Nicolo Cerrito, Joseph Cerrito & Gina Cerrito.  Sisters Cheryl Britton, Tina (Roger) Dillie, Toni (Dennis) Brion.

Uncle of many whom he loved very much, he enjoyed when the grandchildren would come over, his family was his life and he loved being a family man.

Classic cars were his hobby and passion, he was a self-taught mechanic who built many cars from the ground up.  His hand-built Shelby Cobra, which he took on many cruises, was his crown jewel among all his cars.

He was also known as a master welder and didn’t believe in the words “It can’t be fixed”.  He could either make the part or perform his “Magic” on jobs that many thought were scrap.  His dream was to own his own business, and in 1996 he accomplished just that, opening R&R Cerrito Ent. Inc.  He was so proud to have his son working by his side, along with his daughter and wife working the office.  He will be sorely missed, but NEVER forgotten.  With our hearts aching, the memories are there forever.  Missing you already but knowing that you are at peace and pain free brings us comfort, we love you.

Per Richard’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial visitation from 4pm to 6:30pm on January 10,2021 at the Clifford Shoemaker, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. Immediately following the visitation there will be a memorial service.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, send remembrance memorials to St. Jude charities or the Alzheimer Association.

Also, the family would like to thank the staff at Maplewood Cuyahoga Falls Memory Center and Traditions Health Hospice for their care and compassion, each and every one of you made our & Richard’s journey bearable.
