Richard L. Rhodes

Richard L. Rhodes age 91 passed away at home on Sunday March 6, 2022, following an extended illness.  He was born on March 29, 1930, in Akron, OH to the late Lyman and Carrie Rhodes. 

Dick “Dusty” attended Kenmore High School and lived most of his life in Cuyahoga Falls.  He is a former Marine who served 1948-52 during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Bender & Loudon Motor Freight in 1988.  
Dick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  He enjoyed bowling and golf with many friends over the years.  He was a humble, thoughtful, and generous man who will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary Ann.  He is survived by his children Debbie Gatrell, Mike (Jean) Rhodes, grandchildren Michael and Julie, sister Phyllis, niece Kim, and dear friend Mary Roach.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Legion local post.

Visitation will take place Wednesday March 16th, 2022, from 4pm to 7pm at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.  A funeral service will be held Thursday March 17th, 2022, at 10am also at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home.  Interment will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery immediately following the service.
