Richard Senn

Richard K. Senn, 86, died April 12, 2005. Dick Senn, a WWII veteran, served with the U.S. Army Specialized Training Program Unit. He taught Engineering at Rutgers and Georgetown Universities and then went on to serve in Holland, Germany and France.

He studied Mechanical Engineering at Ohio University and Ohio State University. He was VP of the Plastic Machinery Division at NRM in Akron until 1971 when he left to join Welding Engineers in King of Prussia, PA as Executive VP. He was a member of Plastics Pioneers, and was active in the Society of Plastic Engineers and the Society of Plastics Industry. He was elected to the Akron Chapter of Plastics Hall of Fame. After retirement, he returned to Cuyahoga Falls where he was born and raised. He was an avid woodworker, a charter member of Silver Lake Country Club, a member of SLCC Men's Bible Study and Sojourners class at The Chapel.

Preceded in death by parents, Karl and Leora, brother, Charles, son, Rick and grandson, Richard. He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Jean, daughter, Joan and granddaughter, Ann.

There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, Rev. James Dull officiating. Final resting place Stow Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries 175 E. Market St. Akron, OH 44309-0547 or Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service 3358 Ridgewood Road Akron, OH 44333.
