Rita Darago

Rita L Darago, of Cuyahoga Falls, peacefully passed away on Dec 23, 2020 at the Age of 89. She was born April 5, 1931 in Akron to the late Joseph and Celia (Amaco) Giacomo.  She was lifelong area resident. She graduated from St Vincent High School (‘49), where she met her devoted husband, John L Darago (‘50). She then graduated from St Thomas Hospital School of Nursing as a register nurse. After raising her four sons, Rita went back to work as a nurse at the Children Services Board where she worked until her retirement in 1997.

Rita is preceded in death by her loving husband John L Darago. She will be dearly missed by her sons, John, Kevin (Billie), Timothy (Carolyn), and Patrick (Mary); grandchildren Timothy, Katie, Michael, Michelle, Patrick (Brittney) and Nicholas and great granddaughter Theresa Grimm.

Guests are welcome to visit with the family from 8:45-9:45 am on Wednesday Jan 6, 2021 at Clifford Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls, Oh.  Immediately following visitation, mass of Christian burial will be held at St Joseph Catholic Church, 1761 2nd St, Cuyahoga Falls, Oh, Interment immediately following mass. She will be laid to rest with her husband John L Darago at Holy Cross Cemetery, 100 E Waterloo Rd, Akron, Oh. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Rita’s name to St Vincent-St Mary High School Endowment Fund, 15 N Maple St, Akron, Oh 44303.
